Mom's lives are busy and filled with things that constantly need our attention. From when our child is baby through their school years we're faced with a demanding job. We juggle many different roles; cook, housekeeper, homework helper, nurse, playmate, chauffeur, laundress and so on.
We become overwhelmed with the million distractions it's a wonder us moms get anything done. Some days you are just so exhausted, so done, and just want to SCREAM! It’s ok, we all have been there. Days can be long and test any Mom's patience. That’s why it’s so important to find your ZEN!
HOW TO FIND YOUR ZEN?
DO YOGA
SET AN ZENTENTION
After you complete your breathing exercises, choose a positive one-word intention.
Choose a word like; peace, calm, relax, be, or love. Think of that word throughout your day, when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Repeat your intentionover and over until you feel yourself become more relaxed, and zen.
GET OUT AND FOLLOW YOUR ZEN!
Go for a walk, go to a Yoga or Pilates class, make Art, or find anything that makes you feel more peaceful.
Visit places that calm you. Do you live near any lakes, the ocean, or a pretty garden? Go to that place and just soak it in. Keep a vision of this place throughout your day to go back to in your mind when times get tough.
ZEN MOMENTS
Try taking moments throughout the day to fit in your Zen.
Yoga will help ground you and add zen to your day!
Yoga is a great way to relax your mind and body. Try practicing first thing in the morning, end with some deep breathing. You can prepare beforehand by finding a routine online or from Pinterest. Have it next to you as a guide, or find a video to guide you. YouTube has many great videos to follow.
If you prefer you can just wing it. Have your body be your guide.

BREATH
Theirs's no quicker way to Zen, then through your breath!
BREATH
Theirs's no quicker way to Zen, then through your breath!
If you have a hectic morning and can’t fit in a yoga practice, try sitting in a chair or on the floor and “Just Breathe.” Release and let go of negative thoughts, and frustrations.
Start with a couple of sighs, inhale deeply, exhale, and let go. Try this a couple of times. Next, try to slow down these breaths; inhale to a count of 4, exhale to a count of 8. Begin to lengthen this if you can. Do this for a few moments and you'll feel peaceful and restored.

PRACTICE DEEP BREATHING
Deepen your breath so you can deepen your Zen!
This takes about 5 or 10 minutes. Sit in comfortable crossed leg position. Have a tall spine, feel your sits bones rooted in the earth, your body is light and lifting towards the sky.
Close your eyes and be aware of all the sounds you’re hearing. No judgments just observing your environment. If any thoughts pop up like such as the million things you need to do, just let them go. Watch your thoughts, worries, and concerns to just drift away.
Then start to notice your breath as it comes in and out. Is it fast? Is it Slow? Start to slow it down by gently lengthening your breath. Allow the breath to go in your nose and out your nose. Longer and deeper inhales and exhales. With each exhale remind yourself to breathe away “ Stress” as you breathe in you’re breathing “Peace”.
Start to breathe into your belly, let it fill up with air like a balloon, let the breath move up to your chest, then, pause gently let go of the breath working your way from the chest to your belly. Do this a few times.

Find moments throughout the day to do calming breaths.
-When you take a Bath
-During your shower
-While you walk
-When you do the dishes
-When you are reading
-While drinking your morning coffee (Try to sit on your patio, or look out the window).
END THE DAY WITH ZEN
When your ready to go to sleep. Close your eyes and start to think of your one-word intention from the morning. Repeat that word to yourself. Just allow yourself to let go, release everything that has happened during the day.
Start to do your deep breathing for a few moments. Then add in some time for relaxing the body.
Let your shouldres drop just release, relax your: arms, wrists and fingers. Let them just soften and sink into your bed. Let any tensions go away with the breath. Let the upper back relax, gently releasing tension from the top to the bottom of your spine.
Guide your breath into your belly, and pause here. Take a few deep belly breaths. Then move on to your chest, and stomach, letting go. Release the legs let them soften, then the knees, your ankles, and then feet. Let everything relax.
Scan the body for any remaining tension and let it go with the breath. Let your entire body feel like it’s sinking into the sand, or onto a soft cloud. Just enjoy this peaceful feeling while you continue to consciously breathe.
You should feel light, and peaceful and ready for a blissful nights sleep.
